Marie Curie was born in Warsaw,

Poland, on November 7, 1867, to a

family of educators.

He moved to Paris in 1891 to study at

the Sorbonne, where he excelled in his

studies despite many challenges.

DISCOVERY OF RADIUM

AND POLONIUM - 1898

In 1898, Marie and Pierre Curie

discovered the elements polonium

and radium, marking a significant

advance in science.

NOBEL PRIZE IN

PHYSICS - 1903

In 1903 she won the Nobel Prize in

Physics, becoming the first woman

to receive this prestigious award.

DEATH OF PIERRE

CURIE - APRIL 19, 1906

In 1906, her husband Pierre Curie

died tragically in an accident, but

Marie continued her scientific work

and became the first female

professor at the University of Paris.

SECOND NOBEL PRIZE

In 1911 he won his second Nobel

Prize in Chemistry for his

contributions to the study of

radium and polonium.

DEATH - JULY 4, 1934

Marie Curie died on July 4, 1934,

due to prolonged exposure to
