About Fairmont
Fairmont hotels & resorts is a global chain of luxury hotels, operating
around 76 properties worldwide. It has strong presence in United States
manager at Fairmont at Toronto. Whereas enuvoo shows an average annual salary at Fairmont for
whole Canada. And similarly goes with glassdoor.
If I get a chance to work as a hotel manager, I would be happy to accept it, because it was something
which I wanted to pursue as my business career. Being a hotel manager helps to deal with all the
operation management decisions and it also focus on understanding and dealing with human resources
management as well.
If a job of a hotel manager is offered to me in an annual salary for $59,000, I will for sure accept the
opportunity I got. An average cost of living for a single person in Canada is $2970 per month, so it will
be perfect for me as I will be earning $4917 monthly. Apart from the salary, being a hotel manager was
more career-oriented option for me as compare to just an income earning option.

Location layouts
Fairmont hotels & resorts considered to be one of the finest hotels all around the America, Canada and
worldwide. Fairmont is luxury 5-star hotels which is appreciated for its A-class locations. For hotels like
Fairmont star rating is a major issue, which means that location must be good and suitable with the
prestige state of the hotel. For instance, Fairmont Nile and Fairmont Banff spring are an excellent
location for the people who seeks relaxation and exploring Cairo.
Human resource and job design
Fairmont currently employees more than 30,000 full time and part time employees. It requires people
with high motivation and passion for delivering exceptional services. FHRI provides engagement and
training to their new employers for effective work progress. They believe in creating an emotional
connection with their colleagues and in turn employees create a connection with their guest. “Our
philosophy is actually quite simple. If we take good care of our colleagues, they will take good care of
our guest” says FHRI.
Inventory
Fairmont inventory management keep tracks of ordered and in-stock products which are required for
providing better accommodation service to their guests. Fairmont selected MICRO OPERA reservations
system (ORS). Hotel managers will access OPERA reservation system for reservations and inventor
management.
Quality management
Fairmont analyze their current quality approaches than identify the strengths and weakness of each
quality management approach. Later, they analyze a type of quality control management and lastly
understand the level of the international environment. It uses the same procedures and standards as all
the other Fairmont properties. Fairmont comes in the leading position at international level and to
maintain its position, they provide the best to their guest in terms of quality service at their stay.
Layout design
The layout design at Fairmont is based on its prestige and luxury outlet. It is specially located in open
environment which has a good view for their guests and nearby any tourism location, so it gets easy for
tourists to explore around the hotel or resort. At Fairmont, environmentally sustainable practices and
locally sourced kitchen ingredients are important for both hotel and guest for side seeing around the
hotel. Fairmont has Remarkable properties provide a memorable option for social and business
occasions in their hometown.
Maintenance
The Fairmont has a very strict maintenance program in place to ensure the rooms and hotel is
maintained to the highest possible standards. If it is a guest reporting a fault, they must send someone
to the room or the place where the fault is, within 10 minutes. Fairmont make sure that there
engineering department gets into every single room twice a year just to make sure everything is going
smoothly. All services that can affect a guest's stay, have 24-hour maintenance on hand if any urgent
reactive maintenance occurs. Communication is the key to the success of any business. Hence, the staff
communicate with each other 24 hours a day via walkie-talkies and mobile phones.
