Website development and comparison

Both Amazon and Gumtree require users to access their platform via

creating an account which allows for better customer services. It is a

more intuitive way of allowing more people buy products from these

retailer shops. Development of the websites may vary as applying

more effort into amazon for instance has made it a multimillion

dollar company besides gumtree that doesn’t see as much

concurrent purchase. Besides the fact that both Amazon and

Gumtree share very similar traits in terms of website development,

Amazon focuses more on the reviews of their customers in hopes

that products can become improved which allows for better services.

White spacing in amazon’s main webpage is not that much of an

issue it is minimalised to ensure there is a lot more applications

within the website meaning there are better/a wide variety of

options buyers can choose from. This enhances their overall

experience.

Gumtree has a lot more white spaces meaning they are using less

space making the website home page look bland and unwelcoming.

This may also result in a lot less people wanting to buy from this

certain company as they don’t put as much effort into their websites

as high retailers.
