o System: a set of components which are connected to form a complex whole o Systems thinking: how the things being studied interact with other components of the system o A way of thinking about the world around us, that seeks to understand the bigger picture o Used a lot in geography where issues are often part of a larger whole and interconnected, complex and contains feedbacks o Inputs and outputs, stores, or stocks, processes or flows, loops, drivers and impacts o Identity function patterns and trends
