1. The following SDS-PADE is taken from a 2014 PNAS paper published on K+ channel. Looking at this gel why this protein gives 3 different MW values in lanes DDM – and +?  (DDM is a detergent.)   

This protein gives 3 different MW values because the detergent will denature to its primary structure so you will get (-) DDM column, you will get the molecular weight in the native folded conformation which is in the tertiary and quaternary structure. Since DDM will denature the protein, it will be in the primary structure so the (+) DDM column will give us the peptide bonded order of amino acids
