a. What are 3 of the perennial weeds a grower should scout for during the preplant stage? Bermudagrass, johnsongrass, common knotweed b. What type of irrigation does UC-IPM recommend? Why do they recommend it? Drip irrigation, for ease of pesticide application, water conservation, and to prevent off-site water and pesticide movement c. During the first year how frequently should you scout for beet armyworm? Twice weekly d. What is a recommended management tactic for beet armyworm in asparagus? Treat according to the pest management guidelines when larvae are present in ferns e. During dormancy what can be done to reduce rust, aphid, and purple spot populations?
