Lab 12.

Question 1

Family Member: Mom Friend: Roommate Anyone else: Boyfriend

For each person listed, cite three ways in which you cause that person stress:

Family Member: a) I am always calling and asking her questions. b) I get her opinion on everything related to my health. c) I tell her about the things that stress me out or the problems I have.

Friend: a) I stress her out by not being able to make decisions. b) When I stress about my weight in wrestling, it makes her stress about hers. c) It stresses her out that I am always doing homework because it makes her feel like she should be doing homework.

Anyone Else: a) I stress him out when I cannot make decisions. b) I question him about gifts he gets me for holiday/birthday because I can easily tell when he is lying. c) It stresses him out that I push through my injuries and do not take care of them properly.

Now list three ways in which you can cause that person less stress:

Family Member: a) I should try to figure more things out on my own and only ask her when it is necessary. b) I should talk to my athletic trainer and get her opinion. c) I should keep my stress and problems to myself or share them with more than just her.

Friend: a) I should learn to be more decisive and make my own decisions. b) I should not discuss my weight concerns with her.

c) I should try to do homework less of the time and spend time with her.

Anyone Else: a) I should learn to be more decisive and get better at making decisions. b) I should not question him about gifts and just let it be a surprise. c) I should get proper care for my injuries and not try to tough it out.

Lastly, choose one way you can cause less stress to each person listed:

Family Member: I will figure more things out on my own and not bother her with them.

Friend: I will not discuss my weight concerns around her.

Anyone Else: I will not question him about the gifts he gets me and let it be a surprise.
