Dividing complex numbers review
How do we divide complex numbers?
For example:
Finding the quotient of two complex numbers
We multiply both sides by the conjugate of the denominator, which is a number with the same real part and the opposite imaginary part. Their product is always a real
number.
-When dividing complex numbers you multiply the numerator and denominator by the conjugate of the denominator and simplify.
Multiply numerator and denominator by conjugate of denominator.
FOIL numerator and denominator (or use rule).
Simply numerator and denominator remember
Write your answer in standard form.
Simplify your answer if possible (not possible here).
