“How Politics Affects Me”
We use politics in our everyday lives without even giving it much attention or mind to
how we contribute to the government. How I use politics in my everyday life include right when
I wake up. I wake up and brush my teeth, that toothpaste is approved by government
organizations the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and ADA (American Dental
Association). These associations allow us to be safe from any harmful chemicals beyond the
unsafe limit. Another way politics are used in my everyday life include driving. Driving includes
receiving a driver's license from whatever state you desire to drive in. All states have different
rules and regulations such as speed limits or even ages of driving. Along with driving on the
roads the government makes and that we as citizens pay taxes to build these roads. While I’m on
my way to school I am following the rules of the road and regulations such as speed limits and
following the lights and signs that tell me when to go and stop. If these rules are not followed
then I am ticketed for violating a rule. The ticket is issued by an employee of the government, a
police officer. When I arrive to school I am also walking on government owned or state owned
property, schools are owned by the government unless they are private schools. After I get out of
school or have a break between my classes so I decide to go get a snack at a fast food restaurant.
After ordering my food I see that I am charged a fee of the item I purchased along with “Tax”
