NSC-150 Participation Week 2

Tuesday

Think About...

  1. I feel that my physical self is almost complete, but overall, I do feel good with my physic. My relationship with others is where I do need a little bit of work, because while I can make friends for example with my roommates is hard for me to make friends in my classes, so I feel I need to work more in my relationships.
  2. I do believe God made us in his image and that we need to take care of our body as we take care of him, but He gave us the choose to become healthy and complete with our image as we see fit. For example, no matter what I do with my body I must love it and by loving me (not in an egocentric or in vain), I worship Gods creation.
  3. I do agree with God’s mission and/or biblical argument in chapter one, specific 1 Corinthians 6:19 “Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the holy spirit who is in you, whom you have from God?” this verse gives a little more understanding of being a healthier person. To become not only good with yourself but worship good with your body, understanding that if you feel well, you are representing a healthier relationship with God.
  4. I am trying to become a better or a more complete person and now that I know a little more about the eight areas of wellness, I see that I need more work in some areas. I want to become a healthier person not only in the physic, but in the mentally levels as well, once I see I have more balance than I can help others to become a more complete, wellness person.

Healthy Lifestyle

  1. A healthy lifestyle is a specific view from everyone, from my point of view to become healthier one must eat, drink, think, and exercise, specific to their body. For me looking at a scale is a little more accurate, like saying what is my height and age, and that would determine my weight, and I would make that weight my target weight. I guess to be more specific, being healthy is just eating more greens, more fruits instead of sugars, or trans-fats, drinking more water instead of soda, and exercise at least 3 days of week. Lastly, one of the harder areas to focused is think, or it can be described as spiritual and mental well-being. Mental health goes with a healthy lifestyle, because as well as you treat the body you have to treat the brain, for me being mentally healthy means to focused or to have time for me, it could be simple where I can paint, watch tv, creating goals, having that activity that lets me space out, lets me not to think about the world, at least for a second, and having that mental view of the future gives me clarity and balance for my mental health. These concepts may be everyone’s view of a healthy lifestyle, but how you improve or pay more attention one depends on the person, and in their goals.
  2. Having a healthy lifestyle, specifically seeing it from the physical activity perspective, can help with chronic diseases in way that even physical activity of any length can benefit health, and at the same time for example people without any additional risk factors might develop heart disease from a lack of physical activity, (Chronic Disease Fact Sheet: Physical Inactivity, 2022). Chronic diseases can be avoided simply by just have a little of physical activity, by just being active or just walking for 30 minutes a day could have a greater impact in your health, (Physical Activity Prevents Chronic Disease, 2022).
