Hello Jesse,

I use most of the strategies listed in this article; however, I will only focus on my top three. All of my bills are listed in my planner and on my calendar. The bills; are marked on their due date with their amount. I also have reminders set for each payment due a few days in advance. This trick keeps all of my payments on time. We very rarely eat out; that is only for special occasions. Typically dinner time is part of family time in my household. We are all together cooking the meal we all will eat together. I started this years ago due to wanting my children to know how to cook, healthy wholesome food for their families when they had them. However, I have saved hundreds a year just by doing this and gained memories worth more than money. Before purchasing an item, I always price comparison shop. Comparison shopping does not take long and it can be done online. The amount of money you can save with research before purchasing an item is astonishing. I have a unique method for reducing unplanned or spur-of-the-moment purchases. It is similar to the Create a Wait-and-See List method. I have a list of purchases needed vs. purchases wanted. When the purchased needed list is empty, the purchases wanted list is assessed for what is a priority; and then those items are moved over to the purchases needed list. The list is ever-changing, being added to and taken from; however, it keeps me from splurging on unnecessary items. By being diligent with the outflow of money, I have started college again and I am in the process of rebuilding my credit.
