Syllabus An outline of the subjects in the study course, and what will be expected during the week Gradebook A place where we can view our grades on submitted assignments Library Provides expert resources and reference assistance Student Success Center It is a tool designed to help guide you through the steps of writing a paper in APA format. 2. Explain the steps to find your grades and instructor feedback in the digital classroom. Start at the Halo Dashboard, then look to the left side tabs and click on the gradebook tab, from there you can select the assignment to view the grade received and the instructor's feedback.

  3. In the digital classroom, click on the STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER. Click on the dropdown next to the RESOURCES menu (top right). Under TOOLS, choose WRITING CENTER. From there click on STYLE GUIDES AND TEMPLATES and review the APA 7th Edition Style Guide and Template. (You may want to right click and save the guide and template to your computer for future reference). After reading the Style Guide, why do you think academic writing requires such strict formatting? Stricter formatting makes the paper easier to read and understand, it also reduces the incidence of plagiarism by citing sources properly.

  4. In the Digital Classroom click on, DISCUSSION FORUMS and CLASS QUESTIONS and explain the purpose of the two areas. Discussion Forums are where students can write about the assignments posted as well as read classmates and instructors' posts and responses. Class Questions is where you or classmates can ask questions that the instructor or other classmates can answer.

  5. In the Digital Classroom, click MESSAGES (in the purple ribbon to the right of the My Classes drop down at the top of the calendar page). What is the purpose of Messages? The purpose of Messages is to contact our instructor privately with questions or concerns about assignments, advice or grades.

  6. Click on the SYLLABUS tab in the digital classroom and select TOPIC 1. Not including the “Topic” heading and the “Objectives” sub-heading, what are the two main headings found on the page? Assessments and Resources.

  7. Go to the LIBRARY tab and locate About Us. Click on the Contact Us link in the drop down. Describe two ways to get help using the Library’s resources. Librarians are available during Ask-A-Librarian hours, two out of the four ways to contact a Librarian is by calling the 1 800 number (1.800 ext. 6396641) or simply messaging them by clicking on the Chat with a Librarian tab.

  8. On the Home Page, locate and click Student Affairs, then locate and click Spiritual Life. Describe which sections of this page interest you. Why? Prayer Requests GCU Spiritual Life department and/or our staff chaplain would love to pray for you! Please choose the appropriate email below to send your prayer requests to. Campus Students: SpiritualLife@gcu Online Students, Staff, Faculty: james@gcu I absolutely think this is amazing, I love this. I have never attended a college that offers prayer request. Being raised a Southern Baptist it has always been instilled in me to say my prayers, pray for others and me truly feel as though prayers are always needed daily for any person or situation. Prayers are especially needed more than ever attending school, and all the obstacles that go along with this new journey. The following questions are directed towards the Student Success Center Website at: gcumedia/lms- resources/student-success-center/v3/#/

  9. On the Student Success Center website, search for the Writing Center and visit the page. Review the resources and services in the section Research & Writing Help. What resource do you think will be the most helpful for you in the research and writing process? The Research and Resources tab seems to be the most helpful to me, at the top of the page you can search the library, then it has more research and resources tabs that include (find journal articles, find a book and more, research guides, interlibrary loan, refworks and endnote, alumni access. At the bottom of the page, it has an outline of times for Library hours, times and dates you can access Ask-A- Librarian by phone, email, in person or chat. library.gcu/

  10. On the Student Success Center home page, type “New Student Success” in the search bar and visit the page to explore the resources. List three tutorials or webinars that will help you most as you begin this course. For each, explain how you feel they will help. Library walk through tutorial- I feel as though I will get a better understanding of how the online library works and how to find and utilize the tools and resources. Lopes Write Tutorial: This tool will benefit me, because it is a grammar and citation report tool used before submitting a paper.
