looking for. For example, in the first one, there is a prefix, word root +vowel (combining

form), and suffix.

Pancytopenia

Prefix: pan- Combining form: cyt/o Suffix: -penia Definition: reduction of red and white blood cells as well as platelets.

Leukocytosis

Combining form #1: leuk/o

Combining form #2: cyt/o

Suffix: -osis

Definition: Condition in which the white cell count in blood is above the normal range

Hemostasis

Combining form: Hem/o

Suffix: -stasis

Definition: The stopping of blood flow

Splenectomy

Definition: surgical procedure to remove a spleen

Lymphadenitis
