Ensuring to include all employees and patients that will be affected the new changes is important to ensure the change runs smoothly. Communication can make or break systems. Having open communication allows for organizations to receive feedback from those using the system. It is important to ensure that feedback and heard and listened to in order to ensure that we are still serving those in our care in the ways in which they find beneficial. Overview of Practice Environment Where I Hope to Implement Technology The practice environment we hope to implement telehealth services would be in our biggest clinic as they would have the most patients to use for this testing process. We would implement the telehealth services in the primary care departments, pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine starting out. Eventually, we would incorporate specialty departments such as psychiatry, and cardiology in addition to other departments. The primary care departments together see patients of various ages and backgrounds which can help give insight into how telehealth services would potentially be used in other departments. Each department that uses telehealth services to meet with patients and their families would start out with only using the services for appointments that require imagining or lab tests. We would begin the teaching process with the physicians, nurses, appointment staff, and unit clerks working in those three departments. Additionally, we would also include the IT department at the first clinic in the training process as they will be the ones explaining how the technology and system work along with being the best ones to answer questions regarding how the software works. Stakeholders Who Could Give Input 4 telehealth services. How I Would Introduce this Technology I would begin introducing this technology meeting with heads of the organization and departments and educating them on the additional services they could be offering to patients that could both save time and money. I would interview employees including physicians and nurses along with patients to get their thoughts on offering additional telehealth services after the COVID pandemic. Additionally, I would inform them about the success other organizations have had with the implementation of telehealth services in reaching underserved areas. Description of Chosen Change Theory as Framework for Implementation The change theory that we are using as the framework for implementing this technology is change theory. According to the pdf document from Herzing University (2021), this theory expands on another change theory called Change change theory is based on the belief that behavior is a dynamic balance of forces working in opposition. The driving forces will facilitate change pushing employees in the desired direction while the preventing forces with stop change because they push employees in the other direction. change theory involves seven steps. According to Herzing University (2021), the first step is diagnosing the problem and looking at all possible consequences, figuring out who is affected the change along with the management officials who will be responsible for fixing the issue along with collecting the data and ensuring that those affected will be driven to ensure its success. The second step is evaluating the motivation and capability to change identifying the financial and human resources capacity and structure of the 5 organization. The third step, assess the change motivation and resources, experience, stamina, and dedication. The fourth step is selecting a progressive change objective defining the change process and develop a plan of action with strategies to achieve the change. The fifth process is explaining the role of the change agent to all employees involved. The sixth step is maintaining change listening to feedback and facilitating communication to ensure change. The final step is gradually ending the helping relationship of the change agent. How Change Theory Will Guide Implementation change theory much different than other change theories. In every change process, we have to identify a problem that needs to be changed. Additionally, we have to identify who will be affected positively and negatively the change we are attempting to achieve. We will determine the stakeholder in our organization that can make or break the process and prevents it from advancing and being implemented. In every system and theory, we need leadership officials that will encourage changes in the workplace to help it run more smoothly. Listening to the concerns of patients, nurses, physicians and other staff members involved in patient care can help guide the strategies we use to implement the change along with determining the services we should implement to better serve our patients to benefit them the most. Everything in this world requires open and honest communication. Communication is the key to ensuring change can happen and that everyone feels comfortable with it. Conclusion Implementing changes requires more than one person or even a few people. Bringing changes requires communication between all involved parties. Change should always be for the 7 28(2), Herzing University. (2021). Change Theories. Herzing University. Kirchner, J. E., Parker, L. E., Bonner, L. M., Fickel, J. J., Yano, E. M., Ritchie, M. J.
