Opening Final Project

In this project, I will talk about medical simulation. In my future work environment, I will introduce medical simulators to enhance a better quality healthcare system. The plan is to implement medical simulation at my work facility in a clinic to achieve a better healthcare system. All healthcare workers would have access to simulators to improve their proficiency in their work and reduce medical errors. By implementing medical simulation in our clinic, we will create healthcare scenarios that would be appropriate for education and experimentation purposes. Having access to simulators at work would increase the knowledge of clinicians and students. Implementing simulation on-site would prevent errors; when we get new employees, especially new graduates, they would have the chance to practice their skills and train in a safe environment before meeting patients.

In order for medical simulation to work properly I will talk about important points that I will present few key point to the employees and the head of the department members. I will include few things in my plan that will help everyone in my work place understand the importance of medical simulation and how it works. I am going to talk about what is medical simulation, and the benefits of it. I will cover the literature part of the simulation. Give an overview of the ethical, legal, safety, and privacy issues. I will also, talk about the purpose and goals of implementing medical simulation. I will give an Overview of the Plan, the Stakeholders, the Change Theory Introduction, and the Change Theory Guiding Implementation, Lastly I am going to talk about the projected evaluation

The use of medical simulation has been growing fast in healthcare education. Simulation has become a particular form of training in a safe environment with fewer medical errors to future and present healthcare providers. The object of implementing medical simulation in my work environment is to enhance patient care and better outcomes. For simulation to work properly, we need to establish trust between the educators and the learners. Benefits of the Technology

The benefit of Integrating medical simulation into the Healthcare System is to educate and deliver good care to patients and increase patient safety. Simulation can be integrated into healthcare system to help assess individual, organizational, and team performance. Simulation can also improve students standards which need to be met in order to qualify in their fields. Medical simulation technology has numerous benefits to organizations and to patient care which include patients and providers safety, creating great opportunity learning, providing useful feedback to students, integrating multiple skill components, and being use procedures and follow protocols.

Medical simulation technology has an enormous influence on the educational and work setting. I believe with the opportunities we have to practice in clinical setting with simulators will increase the success with patient outcome. Review of the Literature This article is talking about the purpose of using medical simulation in the nursing education. It also, talks about the different types of simulations and its detailed about the human

patient simulator and how it is used. In addition, the authors give information about the simulators. For example how to use them and reduce medications errors. It also, emphasized how it helps students develop critical thinking and decision making skills, use of effective skills, and the importance of teamwork. Another thing the author talks about is the type of simulations. I think, the authors are credible because the points they touched on in the article help support the ideas and arguments in my paper. This article gives an explanation of what is simulation and how it is used. According to this authors medical simulation technology help students and educators better understand the clinical process and how it works in the real world. The author mentions through which interactives simulations are used such as videos mannequins and role playing. This article is very useful to my paper because it is detailed and it has a concise explanation of what is medical simulation and what it does. The author is credible because the evidence she provided is based on true facts. In this article, the author describes how medical simulation has improved nurses skills, and how they are train. The article is about the things that can be done to improve simulation use and understanding through online training. Practicing simulation online gives clinicians a flexibility and make it less expensive. This article supports my ideas on explaining how important medical simulation technology is, and what can simulation do for both healthcare workers and patients.

This article talks about the purpose of simulations and how it teaches healthcare workers to prepare themselves against contagious disease such as Ebola. During the Ebola epidemic, healthcare were able to conduct experiments with simulators. In this article the talks about how

An Overview Legal Simulation in healthcare allows students to grow their knowledge in the legal issues related to skills and patient safety. With simulation, healthcare workers are challenged to provide students moral values. If clinicians use evidence-based strategies based and ethics, students will be able to intensify their clinical judgment and do better when they encounter reality.

An Overview Safety Students with simulation backgrounds have better knowledge and develop more humanistic care with their patients, and they have a higher chance of increasing patient outcomes. Simulation training helps clinicians and learners determine the ethical issues related to principles of autonomy, beneficence, justice, informed consent, non-maleficence, fairness, truthfulness, advocacy, and dedication. Learning and practicing these ethical principles make students ready and prepared for real-world ethical situations. Safety is another critical factor simulations provide to people, whether patients, students, or educators. With simulators, students can make mistakes and learn from them without causing harm. Students obtain valuable skills and knowledge with simulation learning by getting helpful feedback from their instructors, which helps them prepare for the real-life situations. With the proper training, medical students (nurses) are expected to preserve ethical and legal professional standards when they start working and avoid unethical and illegal care.

An Overview of Privacy Issues One of the significant challenges that I see in protecting patient privacy regarding health care information are insufficiency of trust in the system and lack of patient control. Trust is the core foundation of healthcare; Patients need to trust their providers and the strategies they are incorporating into the healthcare system. The patient might be fearful that their information is being shared with the public; they want their lives private and secure from anything or anyone that can hurt them. Many studies have shown that people tend to avoid medical treatment because they are concerned health data is not private, they might be visible to everyone. A lot of people lack control of their medical data. Although medical simulation has many benefits, it also encounters some challenges such as technical issues, logistics, cultural obstacles, and medical- legal concerns. Purpose and Goals of Implementing this Technology

Medical simulation has become the future of the healthcare system. It has a remarkable role in the healthcare system. In addition, simulation has gradually developed healthcare to improve the quality of care and outcomes. During this pandemic (COVID- 19), simulation has evolved a lot in institutions and clinical sites. Students have been learning and practicing through simulations, whether it is virtually or on-site. Studies have shown that medical simulations are critical within the healthcare field. Simulation is an excellent way of helping healthcare workers be educated and improve patient care outcomes. I will explain the purpose of a new implementation theory and introduce the medical simulation. I will talk about the stakeholders, how they are related to the implementation, and how they will impact those involved in the change. I am going to identify the technologies that is needed to implement the plan. I would also describe the implementation of my chosen change theory and how it will guide the implementation plan to facilitate patient care and outcomes. I will talk about the team project, their roles, and specifically as nurses Stakeholders The Stakeholders would include every healthcare worker at the clinic, such as doctors, nurses, patients, therapists, nursing director, IT department, clinic administration, and other supporting staff. The doctors, nurses, therapists, nursing director, and supporting team are the people who will exploit the simulation and make it helpful to patients and the work environment. Also, they are the ones who develop policies, training, and procedures as needed. The patient is affected the most by the result of simulation use. Patients are involved in the care, and if the healthcare providers are efficient with simulators, there's a high chance they would do great when it comes to actual patients. The clinic administration is responsible for implementing

medical treatments and managing the clinic budgets to ensure they can afford to purchase and use simulators on their site. The IT department is in charge of establishing and operating the computer and audio/video technology, including the mannequins and surrounding simulation lab equipment. The team project will encompass doctors, nurses, patients, therapists, nursing director, IT department, clinic administration, and other supporting staff. I will make sure that everyone is on board with the new implementation and is aware of their duties. For example, nurses will gather information and train new employees. Another role of the nurses will be transmitting needed information to serve students to the It department better. The IT team will explain the simulators' procedures and how they work without causing any damage.

Change Theory Introduction The change I am going to implement in my work environment will be adapting to the use of medical simulation in the work place by making sure every employee knows how to use it and how to access it. The change will be using simulators often to practice on delicate skills right before performing them on actual patients. Change is not as easy for people to adopt, it takes time for people to get the hang of it.

Change Theory Guiding Implementation

During the transition phase, most people struggle with. Employees don’t know what to expect , they are uncertain about the change that is being implement. People are scare the new tasks will be harder than the usual stuff they used to do. It is also, an opportunity for the

One of the thing I project to see as the benefits to patient by using simulations is that patient safety and quality care will improve. I hope to achieve the main objective of using simulators to decrease patient harm. I would make sure things are in place and ready to help students learn to accomplish this goal. I would do to have a safe environment to learn and put their skills into practice. Another thing I would do is to provide students the tools they need to learn and practice, whether it is in person or a virtual setting. Also, I would allow them to do the job in the same way they would in the real world and provide them feedback as needed. Conclusion In conclusion, I would say medical simulations have a lasting impact on the society if it's utilized as it should be. I believe that simulation-based learning is a way to help improve patient safety and reduce medical errors. Within the past decade, there has been rapid simulation progress in healthcare training for improving patient safety and quality of care. Implementing this project will allow learners to have adequate training and feel prepared the real-world situations. Workers in my clinic would establish practical skills to strengthen the quality care of patients by following the procedures and protocols of using simulations.
