Ms. Alexander’s
Classroom Culture
Students are
expected to come to
class on time and be
seated at the
beginning of class
Please be aware that being even a minute or two late will become a problem.
Students entering the classroom after the alarm has sounded are considered
tardy.
The students will be given a verbal warning for the first tardy.
Second tardy, students will serve a lunchtime detention..
Three or more tardies per quarter will result in further discipline.
I understand that it takes time for students to adjust to being back at school and
getting into a new routine. For this reason, consequences will not be enforced until
August 19th.
Students are
expected to be
prepared when
entering the
classroom.
Students should bring all their needed supplies/materials ready.
This includes pencils sharpened, homework and notebooks with them. at their
desk.
Students will be given 1 pass per month to go get forgot belongings from their
locker. I will keep track of used and unused passes each month. Unused passes
will be rewarded.
Utilizing passing
periods for success.
Passing periods should be used by students to get supplies for each class, use the
restroom, and get a drink. Students should not be bringing juices, and soda’s to
school. In the classroom it is asked that students only have water. They may bring
in their own water bottle or tumbler but if it becomes a distraction they will be
asked to put them on the floor. Snacks should not be ate during instruction time.
RESPECTING YOURSELF,
FACULTY, PEERS, AND
PROPERTY.
STUDENTS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM ALL NAME -CALLING,, BULLYING,
SWEARING, AND TEASING.
STUDENTS SHOULD KEEP THEIR HANDS AND FEET TO THEMSELVES TO
AVOID INJURY TO OTHERS AND PROPERTY AROUND THE,.
BEHAVIOR THAT HARMS SOMEONE ELSE OR SOMEONE CAUSING HARM
TO THEMSELF WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
If students are feeling bullied or pressured, it should be brought to a teacher's
attention immediately.
TECHNOLOGY POLICY
All devices should be put away at all times, unless explicit instructions are given to
use them.
Students will receive one warning to put the device away, if it is caught out a
second time it will be asked to be placed on Miss Alexander’s desk until the end of
the period. If problems occur further the office or someone at home will be
contacted.
If you have an emergency going on please let me know so we can talk about how
to tackle the problem.
Headphones are never allowed during instruction time
Headphones are allowed when explicitly told during silent and solo work time.
academic ownership
expectations
Cheating and plagiarism is not acceptable and will call for serious consequences.
Many resources are available in teachers' classrooms. These resources, including
assigned textbooks, calculators, and laptops are available for student use as long
as they are treated with respect.
Students are expected to do their own work except for when instructed to work
in groups.
BRING YOUR WHOLE SELF TO THIS CLASSROOM EVERY DAY.
Reminder
In order for every student to obtain the best classroom experience, it is necessary for all students
and their support system to adhere to the following rules and procedures.
