Tutoring Notes:

Psychological disorders- Mental and Emotional

Hallucinations- A perception that something is there but usually not there Ideas of Percecution- Where one is being victimise

Anxiety Disorders: Inability to relax (All the time)

Specific Phobias- A constant fear over a type of situation

Claustrophobia- Fear of tight small places.

Acrophobia- a fear of high places

Agoraphobia- fear of open crowded places

Social Anxiety Disorder: (Introverted person) Fear of society.

Panic Disorder- extreame anxiety (Physical experiencing sweating, physical pumping of the heart)

Generalized anxiety disorder- cannot be attributed to a situation or an object. Feeling of dread for 6 month time period.

OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)- When things have to fallow a sequence of events or a pattern. Things have to be done 1 way if not they will start to act crazy.

Post Tramatic Stress disorder (6 months after)- follows a stressed moment for example when someone dies it would be with them for the rest of their life.

Acute stress disorder (1 month after)- follows a stressed moment for example when someone dies They blame it on themselves.

Disociative Disorders- Temporary coinsidence in-self.

Disociative Identity Disorder- More than one disorder is happening at one time

Amnesia- A loss of memory

Depersonal-Derealization Disorder- feeling detached from themselves (A dream)

Somatoform Disorders- People who complain of physical problems When you think you have a medical issue however you really dont.

I'llness Anxiety disorder- thinking that one is ill despite the medical findings.

Conversion disorder- an anxiety that you have an mediacal condition even though the doctor said your fine. You still think that your not.

La Belle Indifference- Everybody knows that you do not have a medical condition however, you still think you have a medical condition despite what the doctor states and the people that surround you.

Bipolar Disorder "Maniac Depression"- two extream poles elation and depression.

maiac- Showing excessive excitement

Rapid flight of ideas- Rapidly changing the topic.

Major Depressive disorder- Disorder that effects you so much that does into depression and it ha

Psycho-motor : Activities Slow down. Thought Process slows down. EVerything slows down.

Learned helpnessess-behavior that is lean=rned. They show inability when their behavior is reinforced. Locking someone up in a basement and heeping there for a while they will show symptoms that all hope is lost.

attributional styles- Linking and internal (stress) and external.

neruotisism- personality trait that is characterized by persisstant (On going) anxity.

Schezophrenia- there is a problems with the persons, thinking,language, motor behavior, social interaction.

Positive - hallucinations, dellusions, agitation and inappropriate giggling

Negative - voices in your head, going blank, motionless bodies, monotonic voices,

mutism- refusal to talk

delusions- believing something that isn't true

stupor- when a person cannot speak or move even though they are fully aware/awake

catatonia- They are unable to move and causing serious injuries to themselves as though their limbs are wolens

wavey flexability- you see someone doing something and they decide to repeat.

delusional disorder- false belief

Personality Disorder- characterized by enduring patterns of behavior. People that are paranoid and antisocial

Paranoid Personality disorder- your paranoid all the time (a personality disorder chatacterized by persistant suspiciousness but not involving the disorginization of paranoid )
