2-5 Assignment: Writing Notes
For this essay I have chosen to talk about the need for a large information technology
team that will work together for the betterment of the corporation. Being a Computer Science
Major, this pertains to my field of study and goal path of being a successful system administrator.
Having a larger well-qualified team of individuals who can work well together can keep the
corporations running smoothly. My biggest argument is that a lot of teams are not treated fairly
in their day-to-day jobs so a lot of them will quit their current position for a smaller team. This
can be beneficial though not having enough load sharing with a smaller team can lead to burnout.
Some of the major key points that I have identified would be: 1.) _How large-scale teams
can work together and load share for easier tasks, 2.) How smaller scale teams work closer
together versus larger teams, and 3.) What size team would work best for what size business?
Being only a few of the larger key points there will be more that are brought up in the main
essay. These three topics bridge some of the larger gaps that show the working dynamics of
smaller vs larger teams. Being in numerous jobs over the years I have had experience working
with small teams and large teams. Both business models have their pros, and their cons. Load
sharing has been at the forefront of what makes a successful team so that one person isn’t
overloaded with the brunt of all the work while others sit back and reap the benefits.
For this topic, the audience that I think this will apply to most is large corporations and
small businesses at the same time. Due to the nature of Information Technology work, there
comes a point where one person can’t do it all alone, but budget only allows one staff member to
be in that position. Keeping everyone’s attention to the topic at hand is going to be one of the
biggest struggles I think I will face during this essay. Going on long winded points will lose
peoples attention quickly. Being able to stick to the point of being short and sweet with actual
testimonies, graphs, numbers, and data analytics would tend to keep a bit more attention to the
subject matter.
In turn with this essay, I hope at the end of the day someone understands that having a properly sized team for the scale of their business or corporation will retain employees and lead to them staying at their jobs and making it a full career and be fully invested in the work that is being done. One of my key points that I hope makes the biggest impact is what size team works
best for what size business? To be successful this essay will need enough evidence to persuade my audience. I to believe the more resources I have the more evidence I can provide to make this be a successful speaking topic to those who wish to listen.

These resources will assist in keeping track of how different size teams can influence productivity inside of a corporation and small business.
If I had the option to make this into a keynote speech with slides and infographics, it would be easier for me to put everything into that to show visually how each of these resources can benefit the corporation in the long term. Writing essays has never been my strong suit. I am more of a person who will send you this kind of information and let you process it on your own with any questions and input that I can provide in a short and sweet way. I personally don’t know the proper ratio that would make the perfect team but part of it is how well each individual works together inside the team together. Butting heads and arguments do not make a team run smoothly. Open communication, team work, outside team building events can make tasks seem easier to manage.
