SPEECH

How many of you’ll say that you have been adapted and thrived in many different cultures in your life? While every person probably understands how different cultures work not every person fully understands the immense diversity associated with each culture. My name is Naisha Patel, therefore I am going to be speaking about my life experiences and how I’ve had the privileged to encounter such wonderful cultures in my life up till now. First I’ll be explaining my early life in deeply immersive Indian culture, followed by my moving to the United Arab Emirates, and finally why I chose to come here to the United States as an international student.

When talking about my family my both parents are from two different places which have a lot of difference in culture and tradition through religion and beliefs are the same. My dad is from southern India Hyderabad and my mom is from the northern side of India. Each state in India speaks a different language for me learning languages had been challenged. As I had to learn two languages spoken by parents but even I had to learn national language Hindi which unites all the states of India. For me adapting and adjusting to culture had been difficult. But at the same time, it was fun to experience these cultures.

By the time I got adjusted my family and I moved to Dubai, U.A where I had to get adapted to the completely different culture. U.A is an Arab country totally different from the country. I learned many different cultures which I never knew about it but it soon it became part of me. In the start I use to face difficulties of learning new language Arabic, getting used to Arabic food all didn’t go well for me but soon I got adaptive to all. Staying in Dubai has grown me taking small responsibilities like taking care of my younger sister when my parents weren’t around.

Then when I finally got settled in Dubai I realized that it was time for a change and I need to grow on an individual level. Being an elder sibling I had always learned about responsibilities and how to handle others. Now I wanted to test how I can fair on my own. That’s why I chose to come to the U.S to study. Furthermore, the U. has always been very attracted to me. U colleges have always boast great Information System major this is in demand position back home Dubai. Gaining all the knowledge and real-life experiences here I plan to apply them back home when I am done with my degree.

Today I told you about my life story how living two conflicting cultures affects one person, how moving to the U.A really taught me a lot about myself and coming to U.S opens up many new doors for me. I won't let you know even though I am being through four different cultures still I am one whole person.

Each state in India speaks a different language for me learning languages had been
challenged. As I had to learn two languages spoken by parents but even I had to learn
national language Hindi which unites all the states of India. For me adapting and adjusting
to culture had been difficult. But at the same time, it was fun to experience these cultures.
By the time I got adjusted my family and I moved to Dubai, U.A.E where I had to get
adapted to the completely different culture. U.A.E is an Arab country totally different from
the country. I learned many different cultures which I never knew about it but it soon it
