The body uses two types of biofeedback to alert the brain to the needs of the body; positive biofeedback mechanism and negative biofeedback mechanism.

  1. Provide definitions in your own words for both positive and negative biofeedback mechanisms: Positive- The goal of biofeedback is to make subtle changes to the body that result in a desired effect. Keep the body happy. Negative- Complete opposite of positive the body doesn’t become satisfied and remains unsatisfied.
  2. Provide two examples for negative biofeedback and two examples for positive biofeedback. Positive- maintain pregnancy or giving birth Negative- Hungry or cold
  3. Which type of biofeedback is the most commonly used in the human body? Negative Biofeedback
