Interviews with the Experts: Assignment Sheet
The Interviews with the Experts Videos are intended to extend your understanding of the material in the textbook by giving you a behind-the-scenes look at aspects of personality and its application by some of the leaders in the field. There are no right or wrong answers, but your grade will be based on the nature, quality, and relevance of your responses.
Imagine that you are writing a brief description of this video for people who are considering watching it. How would you characterize or summarize it (in 50-75 words).
Dr. Kohn is a follower of B. F. Skinner and he considers himself a behaviorist overall. External behavior was the main focus of B. Skinner and Albert Bandura's research and theories believes that behavior is a human construct. He met Dr. Wilson and stated that Edward O. Wilson believes that genetics played an influence on our behaviors.
Identify any three “take-aways” that you got from this video. These could be any points that it made, thoughts that it sparked, or issues or applications that it discussed.
Take-Away #1: Dr. Kohn mentions Skinner and that his approach was that our personality is affected by our behavior.
Take-Away #2: Dr. Kohn is a cognitive psychologist.
Take-Away #3: Theories do not fit to every detail as theories are human constructs.

Dr. Kohn praises Skinner a lot and follows behind his work. I like Skinner too because his whole approach is about how to control our personalities/behaviors.
B). What I liked Least (or would like to have heard more about):
I wished he had talked more about Wilson as he didn’t really go further into his conversations with him.
