Perspectives on Personality: Predicting Personality Traits After watching the video, answer the following questions: 1. They all were quick to answerHow easily did people identify their own and others’ personality traits? whose personality traits were written on the papers. I think it was because they all knew each other beforehand so it was fairly easy for them to distinguish each other by their personalities. 2. among themselves?What were some of the common, and distinctive, personality traits that they identified Funny and compassionate were both Taylor and Kendra’s personality traits. 3. Were you surprised (or not?) about the accuracy of their predictions regarding one another’s’ personality traits, and how come? No, I was not surprised. I actually don’t know any of them but from intuition and previous videos with them, I could make an assumption of each of their personalities myself. They also know each other personally. 4. Consider the range of personality traits that are discussed in these chapters on Trait Approaches in your book. Can you identify any of them among the characteristics discussed by the individuals in these videos? If so, which ones? Everyone showed extraversion except for maybe Denis. He didn’t really seem to be immersed in the activity as everyone else was; maybe he was just uninterested. They all, though, answered along with each other and seemed comfortable in each other’s space. 5. Indicate which person in this video you think might be the HIGHEST in relation to each of the following traits discussed in the book? Neuroticism: Denis Extraversion: Kendra Openness: Taylor

Agreeableness: Kendra Conscientiousness: Taylor Achievement Motivation: Sarah Social Anxiety: Sarah Emotional Affectivity: Sarah Optimism: Taylor 6. What, if anything, have you learned from this exercise? If you truly know someone, it is easy to distinguish whose traits fit their personality.
