Career Services Workshop: Eight Reasons to Partner with Career Services
As competitive as the nursing profession is, it is imperative nursing students take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the university to ensure we obtain full-time employment that fits our needs. Although nurses are in high demand, the chances of obtaining a job that is fulfilling in this field can be difficult as a new grad; thus, partnering with Career Services will assistance us in finding the right job that not only is in our specialty choice, but also ensures we market ourselves in this competitive field. The Career Services workshop offers many benefits when partnering with them including one-on-one meetings discussing our interests and goals and how we can reach them. Interviews can be intimidating for most new graduate nurses; however, with the preparation the Career Services equips us with such as resume writing, LinkedIn assistance, and creating an interview portfolio, I know I can walk into a new graduate program offer with confidence. Finally, I know I can obtain future, full-time employment with my preferred employer by attending the webinars, workshops, and networking events. These are great opportunities to get my foot in the door on my career path.
