I am attending WGU at this time to prove to myself that I am, and I can be a better version of myself. I would love to accomplish earning a MBA for myself and make my family proud. A2. Imagine your life when you have completed your program. How have you, your family, or your career been changed for the better?
I imagine life after my program to be free. For years I’ve felt trapped in a yearning to find the next best move for myself professionally and personally. I imagine I reach new heights and take my family with me. B1. Your WGU Program Describe your WGU program, including two specific requirements that this degree has for completion.
The MBA program at WGU appears challenging. Through this orientation I’ve found that I need a growth mindset to conquer the challenge ahead and that I’ll need discipline to set myself up for success. B2. Identify how many competency units you are required to register & enroll in for each term. Provide a brief explanation of why you will need to complete these competency units each term in order to achieve your goals.
There are a total of 34 competency units required to complete for graduation. I have a goal to complete the program at a minimum of two terms which would require that I complete 17 units each term. C1a. WGU Support – Program Mentor Describe one scenario in which you will turn to your Program Mentor for. Consider what you might be working on, what type of support you might be looking for, and how you might reach out for help.
I believe I will lean on my program mentor to help me understand my progress according to my pace. While I have a goal to finish in two terms, I also realize that there isn’t certainty in my ability to accomplish that if I need more time to gain competency in the subject matter. I trust that my program mentor will provide their honest assessment of my progress to help me adjust my goals. C1b. WGU Support – Course Instructor Describe one scenario in which you will turn to your Course Instructor for support. Consider what you might be working on, what type of support you might be looking for, and how you might reach out for help.
I am without any doubt certain I will consult with my course instructors on concepts that I am unable to grasp through simply following modules. I would first identify why the concept is difficult for me to understand so that I may help my course instructor discover the most effective solution for me. C2. Your determination to succeed early is important to build momentum toward your goals at WGU. Reflect on and identify at least two (2) actions or behaviors you will engage in to positively impact your first term.
The level of engagement I have had so far in getting started with WGU has me confident in my determination to succeed. As simple as completing the orientation in a timely manner to overcome
that first obstacle has helped tremendously in building momentum for the start of my courses. Additionally, I’ve also made a prompt effort to schedule a phone appointment with my mentor at next availability to start developing rapport and gain the support I’ll need to hit the ground running! D. Time Management Your strength with time management will be critical as you work through your program. Using the weekly calendar template below, identify 15-20 hours of time that you will use to ensure you can study successfully. Fill in areas required for sleep, work, commuting, family time, eating, and any other areas of your life in addition to the 15-20 hours of WGU study time.
