PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
The rationale for this unit standard is based on the importance of obtaining information on policy to
create and maintain a safe society, through the provision and analysis of information and best
practices. Understanding the need to think strategically on the aims and objectives of the policy is
important for the attainment of the outcomes of this unit standard.
The unit standard will be useful to learners who plan a career in academia and/or direct service
delivery, and who will be required to inform policy. Learners credited with this unit standard are able
to

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
