AGENDA 2030

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an action programme

for people, and for the planet that takes into account the need to support

universal peace and freedom, to eradicate poverty in all its forms and

dimensions, achieving a sustainable transformation of society, economy

and environment by 2030. It incorporates 17 Sustainable Development

Goals into a major action programme for a total of 169 targets or targets

and over 240 indicators. The 193 signatory countries are committed to

achieving these goals by 2030. The essential feature of the goals is to be

universal, interconnected and indivisible: they must take into account the

specific territorial realities and are potentially applicable everywhere,

globally, nationally and locally. The aim is to demonstrate the

unsustainability of the current growth model, stressing the need for an

integrated vision of the various dimensions of development.

The 17 GOALS to be achieved by 2030 are:

GOAL 1: To end all types of poverty in the world. GOAL 2: Ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture. GOAL 3: To ensure health and well-being for all ages. GOAL 4: To provide quality, fair and inclusive education, and learning opportunities for all. GOAL 5: Achieving gender equality and emancipating all women and girls GOAL 6: Ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation facilities for all. GOAL 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy systems for all. GOAL 8: To foster sustainable, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. GOAL 9: Building a resilient infrastructure and promoting innovation and industrialisation. GOAL 10: Reduce inequality within and between nations. OBJECTIVE11: Making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, sustainable and sustainable. GOAL 12: Ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns. GOAL 13: Promote action at all levels to combat climate change. GOAL 14: Sustainable conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. GOAL 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of the Earth’s ecosystem. GOAL 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions. GOAL 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and renew the global partnership for sustainable development.
