  1. Proclamation No. 1081 The following material is a document signed by the former President, Ferdinand E. Marcos on September 21, 1972. The said document places the Philippines under Martial Law, an action that weeks prior to its implementation was already planned at the start. The proclamation aimed to suppress increasing civil strife and communist takeover threats after a series of bombings in Manila. However, this justification served as a ruse to hide the true intention of subsequent takeover and authoritarian leadership.

  1. Stories of the nameless: eyewitness accounts of Martial Law victims and survivors This a paper following the perspectives of 10 martial law victims across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The common denominator for these eyewitnesses is that they belonged to the lower strata of the Philippine social structure. The document aims at putting a spotlight on their perspective, their stories of strength, and will to live during the martial law period. Also, it aims to teach the millennial generation how the people of the past had to go through, their suffering, their fight and their path towards survival.
