Job Steps Potential Hazards Controls
Ergonomics Injuries caused by ergonomic
hazards such as musculoskeletal
disorders (MSD) and other physical
and emotional effects.
There are many additional
solutions to mitigating
ergonomic hazards, including,
designing workspaces that
eliminate awkward positions,
replacing some of the more
repetitive and difficult actions
performed. Modern tools can
also mitigate or reduce
excessive vibrations, noise,
pressure, or force. Consider
more frequent rest breaks,
changes in position.
Staying in a room with poor
ventilation, and air exchange.
Indoor air contaminates can cause
irritation to the eyes, nose, throat,
as well as fatigue, headaches, and
dizziness.
Indoor air quality and safety
improvements, such as proper
ventilation, putting air purifiers
and setup your workstation not
in a confined space.
Too much screen time. Physical strain to your eyes and
body.
Limit screen time outside of
class hours. Use appropriate
brightness level on your devices.
Charging and using
electricity.
This can lead to circuit overload and
potentially an increased risk of fires
Do not overload sockets, ensure
that the wires are free from
damages, check electrical wires
once in a while and do not use
extension cords as permanent
socket.
