Today, we will play bingo as our first activity of the day. We will call it “Self-care Bingo”. The mechanics of the game is just like playing a regular bingo. But instead of having a bingo card with numbers, there will be words or phrases inside each box of the bingo card.

In this game, everyone will be given a bingo card. I will be the one who will serve as a judge to announce the words (events) from our tambiolo. You have to cross out the words being announced by the judge. First to form a straight line either at the top, bottom, left most and right most; first to form two diagonal lines crossing each other forming an “X”; and first to get all the four corners will be declared as the winner.

If you complete a goal, shout “I LOVE YOU, SELF!”

Are my instructions clear class?

Yes, Sir!

(Students do the activity)

I think someone has won the bingo! Let’s go ahead and see if he had correctly cross out the events.

Okay, very good! We have a winner for our Self-care Bingo! Let us give him a round of applause!

Now, I would like to ask somebody from the class, what you could say about the words inside the boxes of our bingo card?

Very good! Any other idea?

Very good! And if we love ourselves or you love someone, what do you do?

Exactly! Very good! And taking care of ourselves has something to do with our topic today!

C. Presentation of the Lesson

Our lesson for today is about Self – care Therapy.

D. Lesson Proper (25 mins)

Now, we will learn more of our today’s topic.

To do this, the class will be divided into three groups. Each group will be given a Self – care Kit. Inside the kit are tips on how to take good care of yourself. What you have to do is read the instructions inside the kit and present it to the class. Also, inside the kit is the rubrics on how you will be graded. You will be given 5 minutes to do and talk about the task and another 5 minutes to present it in front of the class.

I love you, self!

Students clap their hands.

Sir, I think the words or events inside the boxes of the bingo cards has something to do with things on how to know yourself.

Sir, I think the words show how to love yourself.

Sir, when we love ourselves, we care for it.

Yes, Sir! Students do the activity.

To sum up our discussion today, I have here again our tambiolo containing your names. Of course I will spin this to select the lucky person who will share to us what he had learned in the discussion.

Are you ready class?

Very good! I think you have learned the lesson well.

There are six steps for self – care therapy. They are:

  1. Stop, breathe, and tell yourself; “This is hard and I will get through this one step at a time.”
  2. Acknowledge to yourself what are you feeling. All feelings are normal so accept whatever you are feeling.
