3 PRINCIPLES
1. Structuring Meanings
-Is the imaging and valuing of
languaging.
-This principle specifies that
persons, structure, or choose the
meaning of their realities, and
this choosing happens with
explicit-tacit knowing.
Concepts:
a. Imaging (Explicit- Tacit and
Reflective- Prereflective)
b. Valuing (Confirming—Not
confirming)
c. Languaging (Speaking-Being
Silent and Moving- Being Still)
2. Configuring Rhythmical
Patterns
-Is the revealing-concealing and
enabling-limiting of connecting-
separating.
-This principle means that human
beings create patterns in day-to-
day life, and these patterns tell
about personal meanings and
values.
Concepts:
a. Revealing- Concealing
(Disclosing-Not Disclosing)
b. Enabling- Limiting
(Potentiating- Restricting)
c. Connecting- Separating
(Attending- Distancing)
3. Cotranscending With
Possibles
-Is the powering and originating
of transforming.
-This principle means that
persons continuously change
and unfold in life as they engage
with and choose from infinite
possibilities about how to be,
what attitude or approach to
have, whom to relate with, and
what interests or concerns to
explore.
