Yes, Diana kindly read, what is evidence?

Yes, evidence is all about a belief or proposition is true or valid.

There are 3 Steps in Analyzing and Evaluating Evidence.

  1. Identify the point/ claim the author is trying to prove.
  2. Identify specify facts, data. Statistics, examples that support that point.
  3. Explain how the pieces of evidence are supposed to relate the claim.

Marvelous Justin!

How about the evidence and relation of the evidence to the point/claim?

Evidence is the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid.

Example

Point/Claim: We should set a limit for our game time.

Yes, Princess

Awesome, Princess

Okay class please take note that even when the pieces of evidence are entirely accurate, there are other factors that we need to consider before using them as bases for our thoughts and actions.

So let us move on to the next slide. We have 4 types of Evidence.

  1. Statistical Evidence-it is the kind of data people tend to look for first when trying to prove a point.
  2. Testimonial Evidence- it is another type of evidence that is commonly turned to by people trying to prove a point.
  3. Anecdotal Evidence- it is often dismissed as untrustworthy and meaningless, anecdotal evidence is one of the more underutilized types of evidence.
  4. Analogical Evidence- the last type of evidence is called analogical evidence. It is also underutilized, but this time for a reason.
