It’s an unwarranted fact that the appointed president of the country has the freedom to create or implement laws within the country. However, this freedom has been used unjustly in the past administration. The president has warranted and encouraged the unjust and inhumane killings labeled as the “war on drugs”. This resulted in hundreds of extrajudicial killings and cases wherein Filipinos’ human rights have been frequently violated. If this would continue more and more innocent lives would be affected and the Filipino’s right to due process would be ignored and constantly violated. The government should view everyone’s equal right to be protected and penalized by the law, regardless of the crime committed since everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
