TITLE: Escalante DanceSport Club-Summer Dance Camp DATE: April 4 -18, 2022 VENUE: Escalante National HS- Dance Room or /and Virtual training Key Stage Level: KS PROPONENT: Michael L. Denlos

I. RATIONALE

Dance allows people to express themselves, connect with others, laugh, let go, and hope for a better future. All of these are things that we require now more than ever. While we cannot connect through touch, we can still feel a close human connection by expressing ourselves through body language.

Ballroom Dance has numerous health benefits and allows us to remain active even when we are confined to our homes. Dance increases our heart rates while also allowing us to stretch and strengthen our muscles. Dance has been shown to increase endorphins, lower cortisol, and improve our immune system when it comes to mental wellness.

In terms of health and safety regulations, there are variations across the country. Despite the low rate of positive cases, we are still implementing numerous safety procedures in order to avoid a surge. We have advice for safe and successful in-person and virtual dance classes and lessons because some school districts and local clubs are permitting a return to in-person study.

II. OBJECTIVES  To function as a Recognized Sport Club in Escalante City for ballroom dance and DanceSport.  To organize and support DanceSport programs for people of all ages, as well as to make DanceSport accessible to the general public.  To raise awareness of amateur DanceSport as a sport on a national and worldwide level.  Organize and support amateur DanceSport events on a national and international level, including national, regional, and local championships;  To find the best DanceSport athletes.  To plan and promote initiatives to increase the number of participants and to help amateur competitors improve their dance talents.  To organize and foster educational programs among the public about the health, training, equipment, performance analysis, and sporting aspects of amateur DanceSport.
