PPop: Continue breaking, rising, and paving in the pop industry.

Filipinos are known to be talented in a lot of ways. Many of them even traveled abroad to join international talent competitions such as American Idol, The X-Factor, and others. Most of them earned a spot in these said competitions. This truly proves that Filipinos aren't left behind when it comes to the music industry.

Although, Koreans introduce the concept of Kpop worldwide. A combination of dancing, singing, rapping, colorful outfits, and music videos. From Girls Generation, the first well-known Kpop group into BTS and BLACKPINK the top Kpop in 2021. It became the way to unleash the pop group in the local Philippines. Where recently made a name in the pop industry. A Pinoy pride, making Filipinos proud.

So what is PPop?

PPop is a Pinoy pop or a Filipino pop inspired by Kpops. As Filipinos are

naturally born talented, dancing, singing, choreographing, and rapping are no exception. And up to this day, the number of Ppop groups is expanding and becoming better and better. They are all enriching and promoting Filipino culture, and some are now rapidly becoming known not only in the Philippines but also internationally.

Getting to know Pinoy pop by several groups.

MNL48 is the first pop idol group that was created in the Philippines. They

debuted in the year 2018. The group name came from Manila 48, which means they consist of 48 members that are based in Metro Manila. Moreover, they are the 3rd Japanese sister group of AKB48.

They are very popular with Japanese people and even widely considered Japan's biggest TV music event. Indeed, Filipinos deserve worldwide recognition because Filipinos are not only Filipinos. They are incredibly talented.

SB19. The most famous boy group here in the Philippines. They consist of 5

members. Although they were trained by Korean Agency, they don't attempt to imitate Kpop but rather use their music to bring Filipino culture to the world with the meaning of their lyrics using Tagalog, combined with a bit of English.

They grabbed people's attention with their released song called Go up, an inspirational song, basically implying us to try until we go up. Their Bazinga song surpasses BTS in the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart. Also, they were nominated at the Billboard Music Awards, the first Southeast Asians in history to be appointed. It was a huge milestone for them that made them acquire more fans overseas. They were one of the tributes to why ppop was recognized worldwide.

Alamat. An idol group that consists of 8 members from different native. They

were strictly chosen based on their proficiency in their native language. ALAMAT aspires to emphasize the beauty and diversity of Filipino culture through its music and visuals.

Their debut song, "kbye" is very original and gives Filipino vibes. Making Filipinos appreciate our very own as they promote and feature all members' own local languages. Through music, they are encouraging us to unite despite the barriers in the Philippines. They are considered the fastest rising P-pop act on the chart as their "kbye" song that, within a month of its debut, reached No. 2 on Billboard's Next Big Sound.

BINI. It is a girl group with 8 members. They were the ppop summer queens.

Developed by Star Hunt Academy, which has a cast of 250 auditionees down to 8 the final BINI. Their group name comes from a short term of binibini which means young lady in English.

Their debut song was "born to win," a reminder that we can always be better and be fearless even if we lose in so many battles before. Then use our experiences and learnings from the past to win in the present. Through this, they proved that they are phenomenal and deserve a fanbase.

BGYO. Developed by the same academy as BINI, the Star Hunt Academy.

They were considered BINI's brother group. They are composed of 5 members who sing about hope, empowerment, and self-love. Their debut song, "the light," became a success and was quickly liked by people as it focuses on social issues and self-love.

BGYO is an acronym for "Becoming the Change, Going Further, You and I, Originally Filipino, desire to uplift and motivate young people all around the world while also elevating the realm of P-pop." Moreover, they are the fifth Filipino artist on Billboard's weekly Next Big Sound chart.

PPop is growing, groups and fan base are increasing, meaning more and more Pinoy’\s and foreign listeners are tuning in to our PPop idols. Indeed, they have truly paved the way in the music industry.

Furthermore, before they were known by an ample number of people, they all struggled from bash (looks) and extreme training. They all start from the bottom, now making it to the top, reaching BTS and Blackpink. Each of these groups experiences all the hardships and is now slowly dominating the whole world with Filipino fans. These talented girls and boys and other PPop groups out there is our future! Philippines, it's time to support our own!
