Walsh that delves into the issue of transgenderism and the
resistance against gender ideology. While it doesn't cover every
aspect in depth the film provides an introduction to concerns raised
by those who oppose this ideology. It aims to impact its audience
with conservatives finding amusement and validation while also
critiquing viewpoints.
The documentary offers insights into the history and evolution of
gender ideology showcasing a breadth of knowledge in this area. It
exemplifies the Socrates Method, which deserves recognition as it
prompts straightforward questions that investigative journalists may
have shied away from due to fears of being labeled "phobic" or
"prejudiced."
One of the questions posed in the film is "What is a woman?" This
query effectively exposes a vulnerability, within gender
identitarians. Their struggle to define what constitutes a woman
while confidently asserting their beliefs.
The movie beautifully demonstrates the concept of contradiction.
It's a must watch of your beliefs. The documentary relies on
research one, on one interviews with individuals who are socially
aware scientific evidence and the pursuit of truth. The film raises
thought provoking questions, about the trend of women undergoing
body modifications to transition into men and young men doing the
same to become women. Moreover it explores how this practice
might impact scholarships that are traditionally meant for women.
In conclusion, "What is a Woman?" is a documentary that raises
important questions about gender identity and the opposition to
gender ideology. The film is a decent introduction to most of the
concerns present within the opposition to gender ideology, although
it is far from extensive. The documentary is designed to have an
effect on the audience, with the conservatives feeling amused and
self-satisfied while the progressives are pilloried. The film illustrates
the term performative contradiction perfectly, and regardless of
one's political views, it is a must-see.
