The documentary "Lee Kuan Yew: In His Own Words" provides a captivating glimpse into the life and leadership of Singapore's first Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew. Watching the video, I was struck by the visionary outlook and strategic brilliance of Lee Kuan Yew, who played a pivotal role in transforming Singapore into a modern and prosperous nation. Lee Kuan Yew put on meritocracy and good governance had a profound effect on me personally. I find it laudable how he managed to build up a fair society with equal opportunities for everyone where people are rewarded based on their hard work rather than connections or inherited wealth. In addition, his pragmatic way of administering especially during turbulent times demonstrated his resilience and determination in helping Singapore reach its current level of prosperity.

The documentary captured the ever-lasting impact left by Lee Kuan Yew as well as showing how much Singapore has developed to become what it is today through his leadership. It shows how one person can make a difference in society with such qualities as vision; while reminding us about the need to have foresight, ethical values, and perseverance if we want a better tomorrow.
