STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The Philippines might be viewed as a nation that is profoundly instilled with their colonial mentality, particularly in the present youth. Colonial Mentality is reflected in our nation's mainstream society, media, and way of life. For instance, Filipinos regularly romanticize Western culture and like to enjoy American eateries or burn-through Western media as opposed to supporting neighborhood organizations that were made with Filipino culture. In this manner, when cultural values and standards are deleted in a culture, the way of life itself is being eradicated. This can be anything engaged with the way of life. Expressions of the human experience, music, religions, and even food. Filipino attire is likewise now intensely affected by western impacts. The Filipino distinctiveness is gradually being eradicated and it's being eliminated by Filipinos. The main problem of this study is to determine the effects of colonial mentality to the Filipino identity through analyzing its behavioral, psychological and physiological impact to the Filipinos. Through identifying the effects of colonial mentality to the Filipino living
Specifically, it is hoped that this research will provide answers to the following research questions:
How colonial mentality changes the behavioral, psychological, physiological ways of Filipinos? How does colonial mentality affect Filipino cultural retention? How does social pressure and exposure to the host culture boost the influence of Colonial Mentality to the Filipinos?
