Apps you plan to utilize in the lesson.

What is the use or purpose of using the app. Describe how you or the teacher will each.

Explain why you selected the app, based on the five criteria of developmental appropriateness, motivation, instructional design, engagement, and accessibility.

PowerPoint Presentation

This app is used to present the concept of the lesson. Using this app, I will be able to present the lesson in an informative and organized way.

I selected this app because of its features. It can be used in creating motivation, instructional engagement, designs, and others.

Kahoot

I can use this tool in delivering and presenting questions to students. It can also make the class interactive because students can play games that are related to the lesson.

I selected this app because it is useful, especially in doing engaging activities.

Microsoft Word

I can use this tool in creating quizzes for the students. In this way, the students will be just answering the printed paper instead of copying them.

I selected this app because it allows me to see whether the students learn by giving them an assessment.

This episode made me realize that we should be careful in selecting and using apps in our class. Some tools are useful, yet they are not for free. However, there is still an app that we can use freely. Also, teachers must possess the art of choosing apps. We should consider the five criteria which are developmental appropriateness, engagement, instructional design, motivation, and accessibility.

Analyze.

The teacher was able to showcase his presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.

I suggest the teacher should put some animation or gifs to catch the attention of the students during the discussion proper. However, I could say that his presentation is creative.

I will add animation to the presentation for a change. I think the students will be more interested if the pictures are moving.

If I will be assessing myself, I think I already about organizing and using apps in the teacher-learning process. However, I still need to learn more about it. I should observe how my resource teacher organizes and use apps and will try to adapt them.

I should practice considering the art of choosing apps for teachers to use apps in teaching effectively.

Continue to discover and never be afraid to try new educational apps because they will be beneficial to me and my students.

Apps' disadvantages include the need for updates and support, as well as the difficulty and expense of creating and making them available to users.

The LMS utilized by the teacher is well organized. The students easily understand how to use it. It is visible that each component is organized because the students are not having a hard time in submitting their activities, taking their quizzes and exams, and reading the instruction of the teacher.

As I’ve observed, the way the teacher taught his lesson is well-organized. He begins his class by having a recapitulation of the things they discussed yesterday. Then, he will present his motivation/engaging activity. Then, he will explain the learning objectives they have to obtain at the end of the session and will start discussing. Before the end of the class, he made sure to ask the students if they understood the lesson well and if they have clarifications. He ends the class by giving them assessment and activities.

I enjoyed observing how teacher Mark Angel teaches his students. Each day, I’m learning new ways on how to deliver my lesson. This helps me a lot especially in creating strategy on how to teach my lesson.

Analyze

There is a component in GJC.EDU where students need to open first before entering their online classes. It is one of the best features because all the instructions, learning objectives and even activities are stated in one place. It is also organized because there is a designation per subject.

Just like what I mentioned, the teacher used the LMS as room where instructions about the classes subject are placed.

A framework called TPACK aids in focusing on how technology, pedagogy, and content interact. This paradigm can assist in linking what may initially appear to be independent and distinct aspects of teaching practice into a synergistic vision of integration when considering how to include the usage of an LMS into teaching and the classroom.

We only had issues utilizing this LSM when it was being maintenance. Some of its features are unavailable to students, causing a disruption in class.

I still need to get mastery over a few LMS elements. I need to investigate it more initially at the present.

Technological Knowledge - For a teacher to confidently plan and use technology in the classroom, even when it is not necessary, they must have this understanding and mastery of it. Pedagogical Knowledge - This is the body of information and methods for teaching and learning that a teacher can employ, such as planning, assessment, and management of the classroom. Content Knowledge - This knowledge includes established procedures, methods for acquiring such knowledge, and concepts, theories, ideas, frameworks, evidence, and proof related to the subject at hand.

To improve my learning on using LMS, I should make the content of my discussion creative, actionable, and meaningful. Of course, I have to start practicing it in order to use LMS effectively.

Observe

Many students are unsure about how to use and investigate the applications that we can use during this crisis because of the epidemic. It is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult aspects, particularly during the early months of AY 2020–2021.

The LMSs are very vulnerable to information leaks in front of targeted hacker attacks due to weak GDPR compliance. In this paper, we analyse this problem from a technical and operational perspective for the open-source market leader LMS Moodle, and we propose a solution and a prototype of implementation. Bradley, V. M. (2020). Learning Management System (LMS) Use with Online Instruction. International Journal of Technology in Education. doi/10.46328/ijte.

The article provides the data from an opinion study about the problems of using LMS Moodle conducted among university professors and students. The complications of using LMS Moodle that arose prior to COVID-19 pandemic are analysed and some suggestions for improving the platform are offered in the article. Bradley, V. M. (2020). Learning Management System (LMS) Use with Online Instruction. International Journal of Technology in Education. doi/10.46328/ijte.

This research evaluated the usability of Moodle LMS and revealed the usability problems on its desktop and mobile interfaces from the viewpoint of students

Dr. Ruben Puentedura is the creator of the SAMR Model. The SAMR model was created to assist teachers in incorporating technology, such as the usage of apps, into their lessons.

Reflect

The use of modern LMS resources, active learning, and certified curricular standards should all be balanced by the instructor. An LMS enables instructors to create online activities, guide and model dialogues, establish learning objectives, provide learners options, and support problem-solving through decision-making procedures. An instructor’s presence within an LMS creates an engaging learning environment. With the usage of an LMS, students can maintain their independence, excitement, and motivation.

Plan

Consult with other educators in the teaching profession and in related fields to get their thoughts, confirmations, suggestions, and answers. In order to help students, understand academic subjects, educational community stakeholders must locate scientific studies to back up their contributions to LMS platforms, according to Bradley (2020).

Learning Management System: Promoting Academic Progress through an Inclusive Learning Environment

Episode 15

Class Grade Level: 6 Subject: Filipino No. of hours/minutes: 50 minutes

Name of Resource Teacher: Mr. James Bylon Lactaotao

Dates when you observed: September 5-8, 2022

Dates when you participated and assisted: September 8, 2022

The teacher presents a polished demeanour. He makes sure the pupils meet their learning goals on a regular basis. He helps her students understand the subject, aids in their education, and encourages them to speak up so the teacher is aware of their viewpoints. helping them with their task or assignment and giving them direction on how to complete it. He also provides feedback to pupils in order to help them recognize their strengths and faults.

The teacher prefers to be really interactive with her students when it comes to social presence. He has a remarkable ability to engage his students and establish a personal connection. He conducts his presentation in such a way that when she questions him, the pupils immediately respond. He always treats each student equally and without bias when addressing their needs. He treats everyone with respect and humility.

When it comes to cognitive presence, the instructor continually monitors the students’ progress and offers encouragement as they accomplish their various tasks. He encourages his students to finish their assignments by helping them with their specific duties and encouraging them to do so. By giving a specific example to aid understanding, make sure the pupils comprehend what they are being taught in class.

During our synchronous class, we encounter several technical difficulties, including signal disruption and brown out. However, the class had to go on. Due to the length of time since our return, it affects the learners' time. In synchronous classes, some of the students are less engaged due to their signals or are reluctant to recite, so we still have room to enhance our body language, tone of voice, and engagement strategies. It might be enhanced if you learn how to make it better so that each student in the class participates and recite. To get a good result at the end of the lesson or class, we'll make our instruction entertaining and interesting.

Reflect

We estimate that we are 60% ready because we knew this synchronous class would be challenging for us. We require greater knowledge and guidance on how to handle circumstances like this. We appreciate the advice our resource teacher is giving us since it will be helpful when it comes time to manage and instruct synchronous classes. We feel that more practice is necessary for us to become proficient at teaching synchronous lessons when the time comes.

To generate trust and a better relationship with the students as well as a constructive and successful teaching style in the classroom, we would establish strong communication with them during our teaching presence.

Building a connection with your pupils is one way to establish a good rapport with them. Since teachers and students have a strong bond, it is at this point that you will most effectively grab their attention. It is simple for you to interact and participate with them because you have a relationship bond with them.

Their cognitive presence demonstrates that they have understood the tasks given to them. Observing, assessing, and making suggestions for improvement to their working and learning methods. Reminding them of their other obligations will motivate them to concentrate on or contribute to tasks, resources, and activities. helping them with the tasks, processes, or results of their learning.

To teach this synchronous online course, we anticipated having a lot to learn. Fundamentally, even if classes are taught online, we must be adaptable and make them enjoyable. There are many different ways to involve the class in the lesson. Since learning never stops, we will keep studying in order to be very valuable during synchronous class. In order to satisfy the needs of the kids and give them the best education possible, we'll keep learning.

We haven't encountered any problems yet utilizing the Zoom app. Everything has gone smoothly thus far. We only have a signal or connectivity problem because we are sometimes unable to control it. Sometimes we must leave the zoom because an unforeseen loss of connection forces us to.
