A BIOGRAPHY OF BILL GATES

Bill Gates, his full name is William Henry Gates III, was born on the 28 of October 1995, in Seattle Washington., when he was young, his parents suggested that he should go to lakeside school and there, he was able to use the computer for the first time. He discovered his interest in computers and was able to understand their relevance in the real world, he was also able to meet and become friends with his future business partner and co-founder, Paul Allen. At 13, he wrote his first software program, helped computerized their school’s payroll system with a group of programmers, and founded a company that sold traffic-counting systems to the local government called Traf-O-Data.

In 1975 Gates, joined his friend Paul Allen, to develop software for the first microcomputers and began by adapting a popular programming language done on large computers into microcomputers. Because of the success of this project, Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and, with Allen, formed Microsoft. The company was originally named Micro-Soft, until they changed it to Microsoft in 1976. The company began its domination of the fledgling microcomputer industry when Gates licensed the operating system MS-DOS to IBM in 1980 and by 1986, because of Microsoft’s success, Gates amassed a huge fortune as the company’s largest shareholder and became a billionaire with a net worth that reached tens of billions of dollars, and became one of the world’s richest private individual. At the beginning of 1995, he refocused Microsoft on the development of software for the Internet and he also moved the company not only in the development of software but also into the computer hardware and gaming markets with the Xbox video machine. In 2008, he left his daily job at Microsoft and stepped down as chairman but remained on the board and began serving as a technology advisor in 2014.
