Data Analysis: Methods like descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation and percentages were used.

The expenditure on food for the state was not that high for it is only ranked fifth in their patterns. It is mainly because the state is composed of farmers which means they can just go get foods from their farms instead of buying those from the market. It is stated that in North Central Nigeria, 66% of the households use most of their consumptions from farmlands while 43% of the families spend 25-50% of their monthly incomes in providing and buying foods for their households. The research suggest that Government at the federal level must try to think of considering the provision of minimum prices for some of the big crops as it can help the farmers earn higher incomes. The Government should also set their eyes towards increasing agricultural productivity and production. Lastly, the government must make the certain upgrades and changes like building facilities, health centers better roads and markets and improve seeds and seedlings to increase the income of farmers through farm.

To complement it, they used paired sample t-test and independent sample t- test to compare the means of the two populations. Lastly, Duncan Range Test, Correlation and Regression Analysis were used.

food consumption expenditure increases due to urbanization leading to higher desires for quality food. The article concludes that a certain town or region’s food expenditure is determined by socio- economic, cultural and environmental factors. It is also surprising that farmers spend most more of their income than what they earn. The correlation test showed the relationship of income and expenditure; the higher the income, the higher the expenditure. The primary farmers have a lower income than that of the secondary farmers.
