Assignment Brief and Guidance:
Suppose you are recently recruited as a Business Analyst to a leading multinational company which
expects to diversify its product portfolio to the different industries. As your initial project, you are
required to prepare a management report to the Board of Directors on “Analysis of the Different
industries and their environments” taking into consideration a selected organisation of your choice
Task 01:(Covers LO 01)
1. Identify and explain different types and purpose of organization’s (the answer should cover the types
as public, private and voluntary sector and legal structures) (P1)
1. Leaner requires to research and explain size and scope of a range of different types of organizations
(P2)
1. Analyse and present the link between structure, size and scope of different organizations and
business objectives with product and service offered by the organization (M1)

2. Identify and explain the relationship between different organizational functions and how they link
to organizational objectives and structure (P3)
2. Leaner needs to analyze and present the advantages and disadvantages of interrelationship
between organizational functions and the impact that have on organizational structure (M2)

Structure, size, and scope of any organization are connecting with the goal of the business organization.
A business structure is a category of organization that is legally recognized in a given jurisdiction and
characterized by the legal definition of that particular category. Common examples of business structures
include corporations, partnerships, holding companies, non-profits, subsidiaries and limited-liability
companies. A size stands for number of employees, number of stores, number of branches, sales
revenue/volume, number of customers& market share and profit.
