  1. Which protocol is used to map an IP address to a corresponding MAC address? Explain its operation using an example.

  2. Choose an example of the random-access protocol (any except CSMA/CD that has been covered by the lecture, e., ALOHA, slotted ALOHA, CSMA, CSMA/CA) and explain its operation. You can use diagrams to support your answer.

  3. What is the main difference between 10BASE-T, 100BASE- T, and Gigabit Ethernet LAN configurations?

  4. When we first connect to the Internet, what do we need to obtain and how?

  5. Before sending an HTTP request to a web server, what connection needs to be established (we know the IP address of that server)? Explain the three steps in establishing this connection?
