QUESTION 1a It is June 2023, and a new Chief Justice of Ghana has just been sworn in. As part of his inaugural speech, he promised to reform legal education in Ghana. You are the Director of Legal Education, and the Chief Justice has asked you to identify and briefly explain the five (5) most important reforms to legal education that he should introduce. Write a Memorandum to the Chief Justice identifying and explaining the need for these reforms. [25Marks] QUESTION 1b With the aid of relevant authorities, outline and elaborate on eight (8) principles that safeguard the rights of the accused person to a fair trial vis-à-vis the interest of the State.

Critically examine the above statement with the aid of relevant authorities. [25 MARKS] QUESTION 2b "The Purposive Approach to interpretation is nothing but a ruse for judges to usurp legislative power thereby blurring the important distinction between law-making and statutory interpretation."
