WRTING TASK 2: Nowadays, there is a trend that reports of media focus on problems and emergencies rather than positive development. Some people think it is harmful to individuals and to society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is true that nowadays, report in media is increasingly focus on difficulties and emergencies rather than good developments. But we should look more further to consider that in some cases because beside negative aspects of focusing on problems and emergencies news, it also brings some benefit for our society. As a result, I neither disagree nor agree with the idea that problems and emergencies have negatively influenced our life because I recognize several benefits it brings to society and these problems have both advantages and disadvantages to consider.

The first point of thinking is the drawback from problems and emergencies of report’s trend. Firstly, emergencies in reports of media help the press office to grab attention. This not only encourages business revenue but also boosts the view for those newspaper people. Consequently, instead of focusing on developing news, they persist in releasing problems and urgent news. Secondly, by watching too much unpleasant news, viewers can cause some social disorders and chaos. My own view on the matter is that most of the people who watch urgency news are teenagers - the ages that forming their idea of society, if they keep watching that kind of news, their action and behavior would be affected deeply. On the other hand, not just teenagers, but even middle-aged folks would face a more catastrophic scenario and engaged in acts of violence if they watched those reports.

Taking everything into consideration, compare to negative impact, there are still some benefits of the idea above. When posting urgent and problems on the media, our society's awareness rises, prompting action to mitigate the problems’ adversely affect. Weighing up both sides of the argument, despite the fact that the media tend to focus on urgent news, they still publicized some positive developmen news.

To recapitulate, in a cultural context, the media plays a critical role in disseminating knowledge about global events include problems, urgent and positive development. At the same time, those types of news can bring us both negative and positive effects.
